(DCA) is a design orientated firm which focuses on high customization
to
customer’s needs in the process of procuring a building. The office
encompasses
the integration of architecture, interior design and landscape. DCA is
divided
into a private division and commercial division.
In the private
division, DCA focuses on high-end
residential projects mainly involving private bungalows ranging from
RM2.0mil.
to RM 20mil. and small scaled boutique residential development projects
ranging
from 4 units to 40 units.
In the
commercial division, the work consists of
mainly commercial projects of clients originated from the private
division.
They consist of company headquaters and small developments.

way of practice

DCA
is a practice that emphasizes on process based architecture. The
process begins
with “accumulating” ;a synthesis of site, programme and people. A
process of “essentialising”
the programme in a thorough and rigorous manner. Finally
“accentualising” the programme into man
made object. In this
case, man man object referring to houses.

“accumulate”
The
source of the idea for a house normally comes from a social
relationship with
our clients and their relationship with their circumstances. The
relationship
begins with brief taking; almost like a tailor, taking detail
measurements of a
client and understanding their needs. There is a great emphasis on
establishing
a reciprocal relationship between man, building and site. The form of
the house
and construction cultivates and conform to the site condition.

house is not just for shelter. A house illustrates the essence of where
we
live: culture, climate and context.
